Remember Their Sins No More

God is not keeping score. He is not writing down every mistake, whether great or small, and keeping track of your sins.

Last week, I wrote about how God has completely forgiven our sins out of His goodness! Well, not only has God completely forgiven us, but He is not holding it against us because He no longer remembers them! We don’t need to bring up all of our wrong doing and play our mistakes over and over again in our minds. God doesn’t remember, so why should we be sin conscious? Stop focusing on what you’ve done wrong and start focusing on what Jesus has done for you!

“And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,”  then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Hebrews 10:11-17

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord…” Acts 3:19

“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake;

And I will not remember your sins.” Isaiah 43:25

“I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, and like a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.” Isaiah 44:22

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12

“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Hebrews 8:12

Spiritual Things

Do you remember when you were a child and your sibling would pull your hair or bite you? You mom would always say, “Say you’re sorry to your sister and give her a hug.” Then you’d be forced to reply with, “I forgive you.” even though you were still really upset. And let’s face it, we only said we forgave them because we’d be trouble if we didn’t say it.

Well, God’s forgiveness is completely different! No one is up in Heaven forcing God to forgive you. God isn’t saying He forgives us so that He doesn’t get in trouble. He has forgiven you once and for all out of His deep love for you. He has forgiven you by choice.

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace” Ephesians 1:7

It’s according to the riches of His GRACE that we have redemption and forgiveness of sins, not because someone is telling God to say He forgives you. Isn’t that amazing? God loves us so much that He chooses to forgive us.

Jesus Paid It All

White as Snow

Are you striving to earn God’s grace? Are you trying to be good enough? Well, I have good news and I have bad news… the bad news is, we can’t earn it. We will never be good enough. The good news is, Jesus already did it for us. We don’t have to earn God’s love, acceptance or grace!

The Bible tells us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and that our righteousness (or good deeds) are as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). Even us at our best is not good enough. If we could have been good enough on our own we wouldn’t have needed a savior. Jesus came to accomplish what needed to be done; what we could never do. Since we all fall short and can’t earn it, God in His love for us, had a plan. A plan to buy us back and restore us to right standing with Him so that we could have the relationship with Him that He originally intended. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:4-6

Jesus took our sins in His own bodies and took our punishment on Himself, so that our debt would be paid and we could walk free!

The Bible says that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9), as well as all who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13). That’s all it takes-Faith. Jesus has paid the price and we now have the choice to accept or deny Him. Jesus removed any barrier between us and God. He completely removed anything in the way and that’s a free gift to us!

Never Such Devoted Sisters

Yesterday was National Siblings Day and of course my phone decides to randomly die and refuse to turn back on right in the middle of creating this photo collage…. Thanks, iPhone.

So, here it is. My photo collage of not nearly enough photos to show the variety of events and personalities. My sisters are the most beautiful women inside and out that I’ve ever known. They are giving, thoughtful, bold and serve the Lord with all their hearts!

There were never such devoted sisters 🙂

Upcoming – Blog Challenge!

Okay, so my last post, the one I did for Easter, He Is Alive! I highlighted some of the things Jesus accomplished on the cross, what that means for us, etc. Well, it inspired an idea… For the next 19 weeks or so, I will take one of those highlights and expand more on it. I’m really excited to see how this goes. Especially since I haven’t been the most “consistent” blogger.

I’m aiming for a new post every Monday or Wednesday, so be sure to check in for new posts! This Monday (April 13th, 2015), I’ll be writing about the debt that’s been paid. You can follow me on Twitter (click here) for updates, too!
